2D representation of sound : The Question

Here I was just quickly jotting down a few ideas for how to visually represent sound and my recordings.

  1. Draw a scene just by listening to the recordings
  2. Draw whilst wearing earplugs
  3. Draw blindfolded basing picture on the sounds you can hear
  4. Draw by placing push pins or the round end of chalk where you can hear the most sound pressure in a space.
I want to take a look at capturing sound in 2D form in different ways, for example take a look at Ze Frank's drawing tool that draws based on the volume of the users voice.

Sound Drawing
This is one of the drawings taken from Jeff Milner. com

This drawing was taken from http://awilletts.wordpress.com/2008/07/07/drawing-breath/ and was made while blind-folded and listening to music.

This is a blog post on the comic artwork of Mazen Kerbaj.

I like that this artist is asking the same questions as I am but is choosing to approach the solution in a very different way.
